IV Annual Business Roundtable timed to coincide with the XXXV OAS General Assembly

OVERVIEW
Through its Cooperative Agreement with the Organization of American States, the Inter-American Economic Council (Council) is sponsoring a Business Roundtable one day prior to the opening of the General Assembly Meeting of the OAS. The Council expects to attract business leaders and Government representatives from throughout the Americas. Annually, the Council convenes a Business Roundtable one day prior to the opening of the OAS General Assembly. They want to hear the views of the business community about the pace of foreign investment in Latin America, the FTAA process, Finance, Energy, Agriculture, Manufacturing, High Technology and other market sectors. Participants will have direct interaction and networking opportunities with the Hemisphere's Decision Makers. This Roundtable event is organized by the Council. The Council has conducted these Meetings at the OAS General Assembly Meetings in Quito, Santiago, and Barbados and at the IberoAmerican Summits in Bolivia and Costa Rica.

ROUNDTABLE GOALS
The first Goal of the OAS Business Roundtable is to expand business opportunities in the Americas.

The second Goal will be to transmit the communiqué to the OAS member states. Based on the private-public discussions and outcomes, the Council's "Roundtable Report" will provide recommendations for achieving economic growth in Latin America and the Caribbean.
