Gustavo A. Cisneros is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Cisneros Group of Companies, one of the largest privately held media, entertainment, technology, and consumer products organizations in the world.

As Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since 1968, Mr. Cisneros has been at the forefront of Latin America's economic progress and social development. For the past thirty years, he has dedicated his life to both the strategic development of the Cisneros Group, as well as the overall advancement of the region. His efforts have elevated Latin America's profile on the global stage, cultivated new industries, promoted the principles of freedom of expression, increased access to information and advanced technological growth.

The Cisneros Group of Companies was formed in the 1930s in Venezuela by Diego Cisneros, father of the present Chairman. Today, the Cisneros Group owns or holds interests in 69 companies ranging from broadcast television networks, paid television services, and interactive service providers, to beverage businesses, supermarkets chains and a baseball team. Through its diverse businesses and world class partnerships, the Cisneros Group of Companies does business in over 100 countries and delivers the best brands and the highest quality services to the 550 million Spanish and Portuguese-speaking consumers that make up the "Ibero-American marketplace." Some of the Cisneros Group of Companies' key holdings include: Univision Communications, Inc. (NYSE: UVN), AOL Latin America (NASDAQ: AOLA), DIRECTV Latin America, Claxson Interactive Group, Venevisión, Los Leones del Caracas, Regional Brewing Company, Backus & Johnston Brewing Company, and Pueblo International, LLC.

Mr. Cisneros sits on the Board of Directors of AOL Latin America, Barrick Gold Corp. (NYSE: ABX), and Pueblo International.

In addition to his responsibilities related to the Cisneros Group, Mr. Cisneros is a charter member of the United Nations Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Task Force. He holds positions on the World Business Council and Board of Governors for the Media, Communications and Entertainment Industries at the World Economic Forum, the International Advisory Council of Columbia University, the University Council at Rockefeller University and the Board of Overseers at Babson College. Mr. Cisneros also serves on the Advisory Committee for the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies and the Center for International Development's International Advisory Board at Harvard University, as well as the Board of Governors of the Joseph H. Lauder Institute of Management and International Studies of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Cisneros also serves on the Board of Advisors for the International Advisory Board of the Council on Foreign Relations in New York, the Chairman's International Advisory Council of the Americas Society, the Board of Overseers of the International Center for Economic Growth, the Chairman's Council of the Museum of Modern Art, the Board of Trustees and International Museum Council of The Museum of Television & Radio, and the Board of Directors for the International Council of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

With his wife Patricia and brother Ricardo, Mr. Cisneros established Fundación Cisneros, a philanthropic organization committed to the future of Latin America. The Fundación operates and funds an array of innovative projects whose benefits can be felt throughout the region every day. Its initiatives focus on education, culture, the environment, social services and global awareness of contemporary Latin America. Fundación Cisneros draws on the resources of the Cisneros Group to build innovative programs and partnerships that fortify communities, promote free expression, encourage economic independence and foster cross-cultural understanding.

Mr. Cisneros holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
